Furra Data Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026  ·  Effective: May 13, 2026

This page summarizes how Furra approaches pet health data and how that guides the Service. It complements our Privacy Policy, which sets out the legal detail.

Furra is built with a privacy-first approach — owner-controlled, consent-based sharing, portability, and minimal collection by design. The Service is web-based and in private beta; some controls may roll out over time. Furra does not sell identifiable owner or pet health data, and nothing here replaces veterinary judgment.

1. Our data principles

Owner-controlled

Your pet's health information should stay under your control. You initiate key actions such as sharing, export requests, and deletion requests, subject to the controls available in the product at the time.

Private by default

Furra does not sell identifiable owner or pet health data, and does not share identifiable owner or pet health data with external partners for their own purposes without your consent. Service providers may process data to operate, support, secure, or improve the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

Designed for portability

Furra aims to make your data portable. You can request an export of data associated with your account, and self-service export may be available where supported. Your records are not intended to be locked inside Furra.

Minimal collection

We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, and improve the Service.

AI with restraint

AI features are used to organize, summarize, and surface patterns in your pet's information — not to replace veterinary judgment or exploit your data.

2. How your pet's data is used

Health data you enter — check-ins, records, uploads — is used to provide, operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, including helping you build a clearer picture of your pet's health over time. It is not used for advertising or to build third-party marketing profiles.

We use aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data to improve the product — for example, to understand which wellness signals are most commonly tracked, or how check-in patterns vary by species. Furra does not attempt to re-identify de-identified data. This aggregate view is not intended to identify individual pets or owners.

3. Future data partnerships

Over time, Furra may support consent-based data sharing with care partners such as veterinarians, groomers, sitters, or other pet care providers.

If and when that involves sharing data with partners:

If Furra materially changes how identifiable data is used, we will notify users and provide choices where required by law or reasonably practicable.

4. Sharing your pet's profile

When you share a portable health profile from Furra:

Sharing is designed for legitimate care purposes — vets, groomers, pet sitters, and similar carers. It is not intended for commercial resale of health information.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by trusted service providers. Depending on where those providers operate, your data may be processed or stored in countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Economic Area. We use encryption in transit and at rest. Access to personal data is limited to team members and service providers who need access to operate, support, secure, or improve the Service.

During the beta period, our security practices are under active review and improvement. We take this seriously — a health platform is only as trustworthy as its security.

6. Your controls

Furra is designed to give you meaningful control over your data. Depending on the features available in your account, you can or will be able to:

To request data deletion or an export outside the website, email privacy@furra.app.

7. Questions

If you have questions about how your data is handled that aren't answered here or in our Privacy Policy, we want to hear from you. Email privacy@furra.app — a human will respond.
