Furra Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026  ·  Effective: May 13, 2026

Furra is built on the principle that your pet's health data belongs to you. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it. We have written it to be read, not avoided. The Service is not veterinary advice, does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and does not replace a relationship with a veterinarian.

1. Who we are

Furra ("Furra", "we", "us", "our") operates the Furra website and web-based Service (together, the "Service"), which helps you organize pet wellness information, records, reminders, and optional shareable health profiles. It is not a veterinary service.

Furra is responsible for the personal data you provide through our Service. Our contact details are set out at the end of this policy.

2. What we collect

We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, and improve the Service.

Account information

Pet health data

Usage data

Communications

We do not collect: financial information, government identifiers, or any biometric data. We do not use your pet's health data for advertising purposes.

3. How we use your data

We process personal data in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR where applicable. The purposes for which we process your data, and the legal basis for each, are set out below:

To provide the Service (Contract)

To improve the Service (Legitimate Interests)

To communicate with you (Legitimate Interests / Consent)

To comply with legal obligations (Legal Obligation)

4. AI-assisted processing

Furra may use AI-assisted systems to help organize records, generate summaries, surface behavioral trends, and provide wellness-related insights based on the information you upload and activity you record.

These systems are designed to support organization and awareness only. AI-generated outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be relied upon as veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Furra requires AI providers, through applicable terms or agreements (including written contracts or data processing terms where used), not to use identifiable user or pet health data to train general-purpose models unless you give explicit consent.

5. Sharing and disclosure

Your pet's health profile stays private, portable, and owner-controlled. We do not sell your personal data.

Sharing you initiate

When you choose to share a shareable health profile with a vet, groomer, or carer, you control whether to create, send, or revoke share links. Depending on available feature settings, you may also be able to limit what information is included or how long access lasts. Sharing is initiated by you and can be revoked when the product supports it.

Service providers

We work with a small number of trusted third-party providers who process data on our behalf under strict contractual terms:

These providers are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

Legal disclosure

We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Furra, our users, or others.

Business transfers

If Furra is acquired, merged, or involved in a restructuring, your data may transfer to the acquiring entity. Where required by law or reasonably practicable, we will provide notice before your data is transferred in connection with that transaction and describe any choices you may have (for example, regarding deletion). In some situations, notice or choice may be limited by law, confidentiality, or the nature of the transaction.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Any future identifiable data partnerships involving veterinary providers, insurers, or other third parties will require your explicit, informed consent.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to allow account recovery.

Backup copies may persist for a limited period before they are overwritten in the ordinary course of business.

You may request deletion of your data at any time. See section 7.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have rights in relation to your personal data. These may include:

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under US state privacy laws or other local privacy laws.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@furra.app. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office if applicable at ico.org.uk.

8. Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you have concerns about the security of your data, please contact us immediately at security@furra.app.

International transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States and the European Economic Area, where our service providers operate. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — for international data transfers.

9. Children

The Furra Service is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Cookies and tracking

The Furra website uses a minimal number of cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we introduce additional analytics or tracking tools, we will update this policy and, where required, seek consent.

Because the Service is web-based, cookie behavior applies to your browser session on our website. Device-level identifiers may be used for crash reporting and are anonymized before storage.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the Service before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your data:

We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within 5 business days.
